Essay in A Cup of Comfort for Mothers
My essay, A Change in the Wind, appears in A Cup of Comfort for Mothers. If you have a preteen daughter, or have a former-preteen daughter, you might identify with this essay.

I loved your essay on GPS. I have a love-hate relationship with mine as well. I get stubborn, but she’s always patient and persistent. I have a few funny stories to tell about her, but the funniest one to date is when I traveled to Charleston, SC. I was adamant about having mapquest as my guide but that was a disaster. I finally set her up, on my windshield, ready to go. The lady started talking in Japanese and yes, I was already on the road. Thought I was going to just fling out out the window and never look back. But alas, I realized I needed her more than she needed me. Needless to say, I took her back, and she brought me home.
